Tell me about yourself is the most humbling question period..
My name is Shreyashka, I go by Shree! (Longest pause ever) What can I tell you that’s not on my LinkedIn and gives you a clear picture of me?
When I was 8 years old, I had an assignment. I had to vist the zoo, photograph 10 exhibits and make it presentable. Excited, I walked home- to only realise, we didn’t have a camera. We didn’t come from much, the handful of photographs of my childhood are courtesy of my neigbour who helped raise me.
A few days later, my father told me I could borrow a camera from his friend. “You have to go meet him at his store, NOW,” he said. So, I ran. I got chased by a dog and almost hit by a car, but I didn’t care—I was too excited. Holding that camera for the first time was the exact moment I fell in love. If you’re thinking I fell in love with photography, you are both right and wrong. What I actually fell in love with was creating.
What began with a shutter eventually evolved into a pen and voice.
After more than 15 years as a photographer and over 8 years as a creative problem solver and marketing manager, I can tell you this: it isn’t easy, and it isn’t cheap—but there is always a creative and fun solution.
I am exceptionally good at photography, storytelling, and content writing, efficient at marketing management, and effective at solving marketing problems.
What I am dreadful at?
• Visual Content Creation: I cringe at the sound of my own voice.
• Analytics: Folks, I love data (GA4, Site Kit, AnswerThePublic, SPSS, Excel), but not matrix-level data.
• Attribution: The word still confuses me.
